David City earns 'project ready' status from NPPD

Nebraska Public Power District recently honored the city of David City with an award for its 2008 economic development efforts in the category of "prospect ready" community.

NPPD Economic Development Consultant Mary Plettner presented the award to Mayor Dana Trowbridge, City Administrator Joe Johnson and Butler County Development Director Willow Holoubek.

The award for prospect ready community recognizes work completed in five areas to improve competitiveness for business and industrial development.

David City met each level of preparedness in the areas of, proof of available, quality labor, listing of available sites and buildings online, current and accurate information in print and electronic form, strong financial position, written, targeted marking plan.

"David City has consistently shown it is capable of marketing itself for business and industrial development," Plettner said. "And they do so with dedication, leadership and a vision for their community."

The awards, presented annually, are judged by an independent team of experienced Nebraska economic development professionals, which does not include employees of NPPD.
